The House, the Car, and the Map was recorded in part at Steve Tibbitts' Studio in Minneapolis, MN in December of 2003. The recording sessions were put aside while Goessl made his move to Seattle, WA and settled into a new life in the Pacific Northwest.

In 2007 Goessl met up with engineer Robb Davidson (Danger Room Studio, Seattle, WA) and the session was resurrected along with some live show recordings and a few new compositions featuring Davidson and Goessl. In 2008 the recording was completed and released on Conduit Records.

The House, The Car, and the Map features Jason Goessl on guitar, Jim Anton on bass, and Tim Glenn on drums.
